Late last night

I decided to bake.

I made some

Rainbow Cakes.

or plain mad,

But those blokes

at my work

were awfully

GLAD!!

Who knew how much fun  food colouring could be??

Of course after my late night baking my supplies were down so today while trolling the supermarket aisles I discovered that these were on special at $1 each.  What was I to do but buy one of each colour, of course and some vanilla essence.

 

After my supreme effort in the dinner making category which I might add was beyond divine and well received by both my sons, (yes the flatter joined us for a meal), this is tonights heat and eat feast. Jak has rugby training after work and by the looks of the dirty dark sky he is going to be wet and cold when he gets home tonight, so soup and pizza should be just the ticket.

 Lunch on the run in between work and grocery shopping!!

A sick day round here...

..as in I stayed home from work today as I had one of those squiffy tummy, as in diarrhea!! (apparently I was full of shit!) And I am not one to risk going to work to spread such joy so I stayed home!!

Actually be about 11:00am I was feeling heaps better and lighter, but I stayed like a good person at home.  Like the quote above says, I found the good in the day.  I have caught up on the washing, caught up on some recorded things on the tv, and enjoyed the quietness of an empty house.

Oscar assumed the role of neighbourhood security.

Whats missing??

So it must have been one of those gut bugs that kept me home.  I will be back at work tomorrow, might build the lads a cake as a sorry I couldn't come and you won't get sick coz I'm all better now cake!!

Lucky for me I am not lonely!

TOFs been gone for a week now,

so far so good.

BUT

before I get onto that let me tell you about yesterday.

Sunday was a glorious sunny day

the birds were out en mass

so I chucked some bread out for them all.

I then checked in with my girls

to see if they were

playing nicely with our new be

 No worries there!!

SO

with everything under control

outside

I decided to tackle the mounting pile of

WASHING!! 

Bloody washing machine decided to

pop a cog,

blow its foof-fu'

basically it shit itself

just when I needed it to spin the towels!!

So I had to hand wring the water out of a full load of towels while muttering obscenities and not under my breath I will have you know, then I had to scoop the water out of the dam washing machine.  Suddenly it came to me that we have a new laundromat around the corner so off I went.

I was going to ham it up and take selfies while I waited for my washing to do its thing, then I read all these signs about their security cameras and what they do with the film if people are dodgy.  So I sat quietly and read a magazine.

This morning my lovely washing machine fixer upper man arrived an installed a new heart (pump) so we are back in action.  Except today is crappy and wet, so

from all the sewing excitement!!

I see an outfit coming together!!

Not only did I sew

I polished a pair of shoes

and

glued the red/green ones

that had a blow out.

Time for a cuppa!!!

(because I so have my shit together)

Hard to believe but I actually slept in until 7:30am this morning, this is what happens when TOF is away.  The animals let me enjoy my sleep, but by 7:30am they could no longer wait for breakfast, so I obliged them.  Grabbed me a hot drink and my morning newspaper and went back to bed!!  Bloody bliss.

Once Jak and I had eaten poached eggs (thanks girls) and grilled bacon, I got dressed and ready to face the day.  I chose one of my tie died tops and a pair of black harem pants I got off trade me and after a comfortable day in this fabulous pants there is a strong chance another pair will be purchased!!  We went and picked up Max, dropped Jak at his rugby pre game hooha, and then Max and I went out for a spot of bloke shopping.  As in thermos, beanie, gumboots and other manly essentials for someone that is going duck shooting tomorrow morning.

Max and I parted company and I went to Jaks rugby game (that would be him with his leg in the air).  Good game, the lads played well but they came second.  I got side tracked as you do when the play is the other end of the field most of the time.

 

The sky was full of billowing clouds moving rapidly across the sky, but the sun stayed shining and no rain fell, in fact it was quite hot!! Very nice indeedy.

All in all it was quite a glorious day

Little Miss Autumn seems to have settled in well  with the girls, there is the odd chicken styled bullying going on but that is the pecking order thing that happens when you have chickens.  She will survive, and they will accept her.

I love how five of them were already perched up for the evening late this afternoon when I went to collect their egg laying efforts of the day.  Such entertaining pets with such rewards.  Totally unimpressed with having their photo taken while in their PJs!!

I am happily relaxing in the lounge with the gas heater on, all pets are snoozing, and the tv is quietly on, our local team the Chiefs are playing Rugby, I think they are coming first.  Might catch up on some recorded things as I have the house to myself and the REMOTE!! I know, far too much excitement really.  I like it!!

I have been having some problems with my internet this evening so I am not sure how successful this post will be.  Technology is farkin awesome when it works but quite an arse when it doesn't!  

I appear to have found my limit with my patience this evening!!!

 Meet Miss Autumn.

Somehow she turned up in our back yard last night because she was faffing about down the back when I went to give my girls their breakfast.   She was quite happy to be picked up and popped into the coup with the girls.  I have no idea where she came from but she is pretty happy with the others.  So I have called her Autumn for obvious reasons.  Thinking she is a bantam because of her size and her fluffy feet.

It would appear that the internet has played ball long enough for my daily ramblings.  Have a lovely couple of days off, I have a game of rugby to attend.
