Twenty years of wedded bliss!!!

Twenty years ago today TOF and I got married in our backyard garden of our home.  Not the one we have now, but our first home we owned.  It was mid week one evening with an elderly JP and four close friends.  No Meringue dress for me!!!  It was small event and still to this day I wouldn't have it any other way.  We took our own photos, and wrote our own vows.  We didn't feel we needed the big do to seal the deal!!

We had a Black Forest Gateau for a wedding cake, and lots of fabulous food and wine that night.  In fact we had a ball.  I remember on our first anniversary we had all the guests that attended our wedding around for dinner!!  By now you probably have worked out that I am not much of a traditionalist, (wait until Xmas when you see my tree!!! ).  Plenty of people got their knickers in a knot about how we did it, but tough titties was what we thought.  Crikey, at the end of the day it isn't about how you do it, it is what you are doing that counts.  We are still together and that says alot these days.  I met TOF when I was an 18 year old foot loose and fancy free teenager.  So we have known each other for 32 years now.  Our paths crossed off and on for years and we finally got back together when I was about 26.  I reckon we will be together until the end.  TOF has cooked a roast chicken and spuds and just whipped up a tasty looking salad from the goodies growing in our garden.

Happy Anniversary to us
