Potter by day and rugby supporter by night

This morning was just lovely and I seriously toyed with the idea of staying in my comfy bed and reading my book.  Then common sense turned up and reminded how the washing would benefit from being washed and hung out in the sunshine and fresh breeze. Common sense also suggest I get the bed made, tidied up and then I would be available and guilt free to go out to Dawns place.

 A gorgeous colourful Bird Bath is already to be sold.

 And the Bird Lady is finished and looking lovely!

Then there was this funky little set of drawers and round bowl lidded pot.

It is really nice that Dawns still gets to play and make one of things that she will keep for herself.  She was telling me that playing like this can lead to developing them into a sell-able item.  I would buy both, that's how brilliant they are.

These huge unglazed birds which I called the 'Stoner Birds' due to their very laid back look will be glazed in magnificent colour and then sold.  I love seeing things like this in their raw state, and when the colour and clear glaze goes on, the transformation into marvellousness kicks in.

I had grand plans to have go at making some Angels for my garden like the two I purchased.  Somehow mine ended up being my family, as in mother, sisters and me.  Then I added my old friend into the fold.  Dawn and I were in a fit of the giggles as my Steiner styled dolls have a likeness that only I could see but Dawn could understand.  At this stage I can reveal I am the small one with the head scarf.  The fun part is adding the colour.

These are the ones the professional artist made!
Bigger, with detailing and shoes.
We like the pregnant one.

Watch this space as I know she will develop them
into some very retail-able item that will blow all our mind.

The other day I was given two tickets to a game of rugby so TOF and I decided we would go.  I have been to the Stadium once and that was a least 7 years ago so it was time I went along.  I struggled to know what to wear as I am not really a jeans kinda gal, or track pants person.  Lets just say I was inadequately  dressed for the weather.

Waikato Stadium at night, decent sized crowd, and an ok game was watched.  I like a commentary which you just don't get at a live game.

There we are, Supporters, Fans, seated with all the other peeps that had turned out for the game.  We gave in to the smells of hot chips and hot dogs and got some to go with our beerzies!!  I tool a big old bright bag with my hat, gloves and small poncho to go on under my jacket.  If we go again I am taking a blanket to wrap around my legs, either that or I will have to give in to Track Pants, NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo...........................blanket, I will take a blanket!!

Apparently there were a couple of trys, I know this because it appears in big letters on the big screen.  No I did actually witness them and know what the were, but I want a commentator!!

It got quite cold and I will confess to getting a little over it all and ended up reading a guys text messages over his shoulders.  Stalkerish behavior!!  Some one kept telling him they missed him and he kept telling some one that he loved them.  Awe, sweet!!

The Stadium looked pretty smart all lit up in the evening sky while we waited patiently for Jak to come and pick us up.

Just finishing a  hot cuppa and then I am going to go have a hot shower to warm up, then I plan to READ!!  On the last section of my massive book and I cannot put it down.  I am going to miss living with these characters when I have finished

Go forth and enjoy your weekend my lovelies!!

An Obituary printed in the London Times - Interesting and sadly rather true

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who
has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was,
since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He
will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- and Maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more
than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in
charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
 Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the
job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
children.
 It declined even further when schools were required to get parental
consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could
not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
abortion.
 Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses;
and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
 Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a
burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
 Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in
her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
 Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by
his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son,
Reason.
 He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If
you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do
nothing.

The furry Sherpa hat has inspired me to suggest you adapt a Mongol-at-Rugby look. Instead of the dreaded sweats, wear those comfy harem pants over tights with the bright boots. Wear a short coat over 5 or 6 dresses, plus gauntlets up to the elbows and you've got it! (No beerzies, 'tho, 'cause using the loo will be a challenge.)

The Bird Lady is charming! Please encourage Dawn to create a Crazy Cat Lady, her sister...

I took my brother, sister in law and niece and nephews to see the All Blacks play at the Wellington Stadium last year. It was 3 degrees and a southerly, so we know how cold it gets. Like you I think I prefer to be on my couch with the heater on, the commentator and replays and warm food and drinks.

Love the pottery. I was thinking that Dawns jars would make awesome urns.

Enjoy your weekend.

Brrr - it looks COLD at that game - watch it on telly next time!
Love the figures you made with Dawn, they're great! Her grumpy-faced frogs made me chuckle. xxx

Dawn's creations are incredible, I don't know how you aren't tempted to stuff a few in your handbag and deny all knowledge!

Wow, the pottery creations are all stunning! I'm looking forward to seeing your family all painted up. Maybe you don't have to go back to a live game for another 7 years?! Interesting obit!

Oh, your family in ceramic-what a lovely idea. I just know it will be beautiful when completed.

You read his texts?! Oh god, that is seriously hysterical.

It looks freezing at the game. I've been to enough night time footy games to know that all normal fashion choices go out the window in the interests of staying warm(ish) :0)

Gah, common sense...........!!!
The colours on that birdbath are so pretty! Dawn is such a clever sod!
I have only ever been to one rugger match, the final where it got really foggy some years back, and nothing could be seen! I'd rather watch it on tele, but I haven't enjoyed it as much these last years, for some reason.
