I have gone to the dark side even tho' the sun is shining.

Yesterday was BLAH in the morning, it drizzled and was another grey dull day.  Then all of a sudden the sky cleared and out she came.

THE SUN!
Oh how I welcomed her back.

Dressed in Cobalt Blue with black and white I breezed through the morning with my spotty jacket on and ditched it for the sunny afternoon.  I love this sort of weather, rug up for the morning and then enjoy some warmth for the afternoon.  Sure it goes cold again later on, but if it isn't raining, it is a good thing!

After a quick lunch at home I headed out to visit my friend Dawn the potter.  She had just finished this Ugly Beautiful face for a lady.  I love these with their copper wire hair, uneven eyes and juicy big lips.

Remember these?  I think I shared a photo of them before being cooked and made all colourful.  I am in love with them all.  Non are for sale as they have been made for her Grandchildren, but I seriously think Dawn needs to crank some out, I bet they would sell fast.  I have another box of goodies to take over to Whangamata with me when I go tomorrow.

Guess what I did last night?

Well?

After 53 years of being a natural blonde I decided I wanted to have a crack at being dark.  Poor TOF didn't know I was doing it so got a good surprise this morning!!  He likes it, I like it, and now I am going to see if I have as much fun as a brunette as I have done as a blonde.  I really think it is more to do with a good attitude to life, not the colour of ones hair, but I shall report back.

So what do you think?

Today was another day of rugging up in the morning and stripping a layer for the afternoon.  We had a hearty frost to wake up to, which is a sure sign of a bloody grand day to come.  I was not disappointed, the sun returned to grace the sky again.  One of the great things about working with all males, is they don't give a toss about how I dress, what I do with my hair, or anything.  Sure they probably notice but they don't have the urge to share their opinion, they just accept me for me.

Good thing to remember!

Time for a laugh?

And this one is for

I salute you sister!

Your dark hair really shows off your gorgeous blue eyes. I wasn't sure at first when I did mine but much prefer it on me now.
Love the cobalt and black and white but reckon you should send some of that sunshine over here. It's not feeling in the least bit Spring-like. xxx

Vix said it first: The dark hair intensifies the color of your eyes. This is a bold move indeed, but if TOF likes it and you like it, it's worth the maintenance. (It's been many years since I've seen my natural hair color. Some facts are better left unfaced.)

The spotty cover-up is spiffy with the cobalt and stripes! Oh, just noticed a fuzzy-hair-do chicken photo-bombing this shoot. Hullo, little chook whose name I've forgotten.

Wow ... what a change ... it looks lovely but it's going to take a bit of getting used to. Funny how millions (billions?) of women ... and men ... all over the world are dying their hair blonde and you're doing the opposite :0)

Dawns new creations are just beautiful Sue. Now about your hair ... what I would like to know is .... how come you get to just change the colour cos you choose to .... & not to cover the damned grey hairs up like I do ????!!!! Believe me, my grey hairs are definately multiplying. Your darker colour looks fab on you. Have a great weekend Sue.

Oooh, I like your darker hair-such a good shade for winter. It is good to change things up now and then. From the photos your underlying colour gives it really lovely highlights-not an easy thing to achieve with brunette shades. Well done! A change of hair requires a new wardrobe to go with it (I don't make the rules, that's just how it is)!

I can't decide which I love more, the spotty jacket or the red one. They're both so great. Dawn's ugly/beautiful lady has just the very best expression.

Ha! I'm not sure I even get, "Bursts" of ladylike behaviour anymore.

Suits you Mrs. The sun is lovely, but I am sick of the cold already and winter only starts on Monday. Enjoy your long weekend.

Love your selection of tights! Ah the hair issue... looks good, softer! I'm in the process of getting back to "natural", it'll take all year!

Cobalt blue, the name of the colour itself is great, but it looks fantastic on you with stripes. I think you'll have a blast as a brunette. Yes, the darker colour makes your eyes stand out. And Dawn is so talented. I love the ugly beautiful face. She looks how I often feel - and maybe look!

You look amazing! I would call that hair colour dark blonde more than brunette but it is still darker than your natural and really looks great on you. It brings out your eyes more as the others have said and frames your lovely face. Good choice! I love the cobalt blue dress on you too. I love the way you dress, your layers, colours and shapes are all so fun and funky and you. Your friend the potter could make a pottery version of you. That would be so cool. Though if I were you I would request matching eyes. xoxo

Aha, that's when you went dark! How fabulous. It looks great and it's wonderful to be brave enough to make such a big change, good on you. Xxxx

Loving the cobalt blue with black and white! Also loving the hair! Just gotta have a change occasionally! I've been red for sooooo long, and I could do with something different, if I could be bothered! Once it's grey enough, I'll likely try some bright shades!
